First episode of season 3 was on tonight. It featured Martin Sheen, if anyone's interested.
Really interesting how activism seems to run in his family and in his blood.
NBC usually posts the episodes online, if you missed it.
Season 3, according to the NBC site, is the following:
Martin Sheen
Edie Falco
Reba McEntire
Jerome Bettis
Rita Wilson
Blair Underwood
Marisa Tomei
Helen Hunt
Rob Lowe
Seems like the list is a bit longer this season.

(29,676 posts)I also remember Susan Sarandon's being very good-dealt with abandonment. It seems like Tim McGraw's episode dealt with how his ancestor worked with George Washington as a surveyor. And Spike Lee had a few surprises in his too.
I like the show. It's interesting and I can watch with my kid.
(just wanted to add: the first season had Lisa Kudrow and Sarah Jessica Parker, who both had really fascinating and kinda sad stories.)

(17,055 posts)I have been doing my tree for quite a few years now. I just do it as a hobby so I'm no expert or anything. I started long before ancestry dot com was ever thought of. I love doing genealogy and have even connected with some distant cousins along the way.
I've seen every episode from both previous seasons of Who Do You Think You Are. I really like the show a lot.

(29,676 posts)I know my family came to the US back before it was the USA-during the mid-1600s, and they settled in the Massachusetts Bay Colonies.
I think this is a good show and it's a show you can actually watch with your children. It doesn't dumb things down but it tells a good story. It tells the stories that connect us all as Americans.

(29,676 posts)but it's television so I'll give them a pass. And some of the things they find out really are dramatic.
Lisa Kudrow's family history was fascinating and parts of it were so sad. She's really picked a winner of a show, IMO. Then again, I don't usually watch what everyone else watches.
Sarah Jessica Parker's family was part of the Salem Witch Trials, which was very interesting too.
