(12,657 posts)But I find it hard to believe that home testing is accounting for THAT MUCH of a drop. We're at one tenth the daily cases of a month ago.

(4,688 posts)I mean my Husband are acting like we have it and we are acting like everyone else has it. If we get sick we won't just go get tested 'for fun',,,,
My wife and I have tested 3 times, in the past 4 months, always negative. We rarely go out and follow all protocols when we do. And the pessimistic people I know do the same thing - they just seem to be acting on the assumption that it will never get better and chastise anyone for suggesting it might be improving. I don't understand that perspective.

(4,688 posts)I am really working at not being too pessimistic,,,,
But This past two years has permanently changed me,,,, I am old,,,, I have chronic conditions,,,, and I've decided I don't even like people that much anymore,,, We eat dinner around 4 and are getting ready for bed by 9pm. Hermits. Thank goodness for the Internet in general and DU in particular.

(12,657 posts)It sounds terrible, but self-medicating has kept me from turning into a seething ball of rage at every little thing. And I'm lucky in that I have a good job that is perma work from home and have the privilege of being able to pay extra for grocery and restaurant deliveries.

my pulmonary doctor says he thinks we're all going to get the omnicron variant but suggests putting it off as long as possible so that the hospitalizations are down and the monoclonal antibody treatments that work on omnicron will be more available,,,,
