It also looked to have machine-fed ballots (I'm reading about voting machines breaking down - not sure where or what kind).

didn't even have a chance to chat about how the day had been going. in and out in about 5 minutes.
edit - rural and southern, probably NOT students. interesting, wonder what was up?

Maybe after work voters who couldn't go early?
Fontes tried to extend the voting hours (with SoS Reagan's support), but it was knocked down by the County Board of Supervisors apparently.
