1. AZ has the fifth lowest vaccination rate

Only the usual suspects (MS, LA, ID, WY) are lower. While I take no pleasure in what is happening there, I can't say I am particularly surprised. States with a majority buying into the fiction of rugged individualism are all going to get nailed.

I'm next door in NM. Our rates are decent, but there will still be spillover into some of the wingnut counties bordering AZ and TX.

This is a virus that eats people. It doesn't care if you're a faceless nobody or John Galt. The only way to get rid of it is to remove its food source and starve it to death and the only way to do that is through the vaccine.

If this post seems overly cranky, that's because it is. I am so done with self righteous antiintellectualism, science denial, and Aum Ramd fetishists. The solution is out there and it doesn't cost anything. The fact that pigheaded morons refuse to get it is infuriating.

2. It's disappointing, since we were the first to

establish a mass vaccination site which operated 24/7. I got my first shot there, at 2:20 one A.M. and there were plenty of people there. After that, our governor was apparently put under pressure to downplay, and downplay he has been doing.

You don’t sound cranky. I’ve said to myself many times that if I had met you, or just one person with your intellect when I lived in NM, I might have stayed.
