Related: About this forumEd Lee Acquires Venture Capital for New Start-Up City
http://www.sfweekly.com/exhibitionist/2015/05/11/ed-lee-acquires-venture-capital-for-new-start-up-cityEd Lee shocked Californians today by announcing his resignation as Mayor of San Francisco to found a new start-up city.
Ive seen municipal dysfunction up close for years and its convinced me that cities are a paradigm ready for disruption, Lee told Tech Crunch and Mayors Digest. I believe that with just a little venture capital and a group of talented go-getters fresh out of college, Ill be able to reinvent what it means to live in a place with other people....
Details of Lees new start-up, called CitEy, have only been revealed to first-round investors, among them Ron Conway, Peter Thiel, and the Singularity. But according to published reports, CitEy has developed an incredibly streamlined functionality for bribes, including a Bribe Me Now button and a Platinum Level for amounts over $25,000.
I cant tell you how many times city officials have come to me and said, Can we have direct deposit for bribes and kickbacks? and 'Can I build a trillion-dollar subway that serves only one neighborhood? Less said. Well: why not? We have the technology. And Platinum Level members will even be able to automatically send a Task Rabbit with an envelope of cash directly to a Building Inspectors home.

(36,423 posts)1. Early response has been positive.
Finally, a place to call home where everythings monetized, said tech mogul Sean Parker. With CitEy, if I want to hunt elementary school teachers for sport, I can pay for it by seamlessly connecting my Apple Watch with my CitEy account. The User Interface is so functional that I can also use it to order Chinese food and evict a senior citizen with only two clicks on the same page. Thats an incredible advance, and is what everyone I know is looking for in the place they live.
