The forecast for the north coast is gale force winds gusting at 70-80 mph and over a foot of rain. Thankfully the rivers are at late season lows. One to two feet of snow above 8000 ft.
I live on the far north coast, about six hours north of San Francisco. Predictably, I have a meeting in SF this Friday and Saturday. I'm reconsidering. Stay safe everyone!

Stay safe (and off the roads and beaches)!

(36,281 posts)My partner is going to try to out run it inland-- she'll be traveling through the southern Cascades tomorrow, i.e. Lasson. We *think* she'll be below the snow line until she gets east of the storms. I'm heading straight down the 101 to San Francisco Friday morning, returning Saturday night. I'm reconsidering.
But yes, it sounds like the central coast is gonna dodge this one.

(41,831 posts)in the city by the bay... We haven't had rain in, since, forever it seems. We need it, but I doubt it will reach us here...if so good. If not, we still need the rain!

(31,169 posts)We had a decent downpour last weekend that lasted about 10 minutes. A real drencher. Hopefully this next one ends fire season.
