Related: About this forumLoads of rain in the northern part of the state
Gee, I feel like I'm living in northern California again! The rains HAVE RETURNED! We haven't had these sort of rains in years. I am hoping that this is a sign that the drought is ending.
The grass is green again and things not seen for several years are back and mushrooms are popping up everywhere once again.
I am hopeful!
How much rain are you seeing in your part of the Golden State?
Drought be damned, I'm staying here and luckily I am about 150 ft. above sea level so a huge tsunami is about all that could drive me away.
Glad to hear those heavy rains pounding away once again!

(149,775 posts)1. I'm in SoCal, and although we haven't had as much as you've had...
Still, we're doing OK for now. The rainy season is off to a good start!

MAX TEMP: 81 1904 MAX PCPN: 16.58 1973 NOV 2016 PCPN: 6.14
MIN TEMP: 27 1896 MIN PCPN: 0.00 1929 NOV NORM PCPN: 5.61
Only a few inches last year at this time. Today we are seeing above normal rainfall for November 2016.
The reservoirs are full (have been for some time). Now when will that water bill that has doubled and then some drop back down to a reasonable level so one can bathe and wash their clothes more often again?

(36,494 posts)5. I love that all the storms have been mild
and the grasses have been able to establish themselves in the burn areas with minimal erosion. When the pineapple expresses arrive in the spring, the slide and mud damage should be at a minimum.
