(12,645 posts)even without the bloom. I was shocked to discover how many Californians have never heard of it. That was a long time ago and maybe it's become better known now. But if you've never been there, go! Here's a great excuse to do it-the desert bloom.

I took people there on several different trips because I had to show them. The last time I went about 13 years ago (live in NYC now) I was disappointed because some heavy rains from El Niño flooded my favorite part of the park causing heavy damage and some of what I wanted my friend to see was wiped out. A lot of the palm trees in the central oasis/waterfall were down. Still beautiful!

(51,772 posts)The rains have brought creeks and waterfalls to life, and there are wildflowers everywhere. I will check out Anza-Borego in about a week, when the blooms are at their peak.
