San Diego had two huge fires in 2003 and 2007. More home burned in the 2003 Cedar fire than in any other fire in CA history, including the Thomas fire this year. The Thomas Fire burned more acres but not nearly as many homes. The rain afterwards creates huge mudslides since there is no vegetation to help absorb the rain and funnel it into the ground. The soil is so baked from the drought that it is like asphalt and instead of absorbing it runs off the surface and creates huge floods and mudslides.

Extremes...Too much hot, dry weather followed by strong rain creates new disasters. Climate Change is all about EXTREMES! This is happening all over the planet. Europe and Australia are suffering these extremes right now. Their governments actually believe in Climate Change and have been taking active measures to help deal with it. BUT NOT THE USA...THANK YOU MORON! Thank you GOP greedy sociopaths!
