Any good resources regarding ballot choices in LA County/Statewide?

I have a hard time with some state ballot measures specifically 4 and 11.

The judicial offices also baffle me. I'm inclined to "retain" based on a desire to maintain an independent judiciary and also in the belief a Democratic governor and legislature would not put up anyone really awful

I have looked at the County Labor Federation, Sierra Club, Democratic Party endorsements and trying to get a consensus.

There is a web site called laprogressive.com - I'm not sure how good it is. Most of the criticism seems to be disgruntled Green Party supporters, which is a plus to me.

Any ideas?

It just lets them know IMO that there are some out there opposed to them. Too many former DAs on the bench — also IMO. I’m a retired attorney and not that impressed with most of the LA County bench.

But they didn't take a position on Prop 11 (not in their subject area) and I don't see them doing anything on judges, either.

I usually take a look at the LA Times endorsements, too.

Usually the more fear mongering, quick editing, "scary voice" commercials are run by republicans. I usually vote opposite where the commercial portends all kinds of dire consequences because I don't like fear tactics.

Maybe not an exact science, more of a gut feeling on the ballot propositions.I do try to look for endorsements from people I trust.

I can't decide who to vote for on senator.

The recommendations here are pretty much how I voted -- aka "The Ticket" so to speak.

My general principles:
1) if you can't be bothered to write a statement for the voters' guide I can't be bothered to vote for you.
2) if a proposition is supported/opposed by the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Group, any local "taxpayers/citizens" group, or prominent Republicans I take the opposite side
3) I usually support bond issues to fund schools, public transportation, and parks.

The biggest issues in my area tend to be local
