Despite the general consensus on RW sites that the strikes will fizzle, this is a BFD pinboy3niner Nov 2012 #3

Wal-Mart's tactics of fear and intimidation will keep many employees on the job, but those who walk out will be joined by supporters at rallies around the country.

In and around downtown L.A. there are at least 3 major actions. The one I'm going to in the morning (the first one in the OP) has 185 Occupy L.A. members signed up to be there, with 73 more who might make it.

This is only the beginning...

WOW! The protest was a HUGE success, and may have been the largest Black Friday Wal-Mart protest in the country!

I need to put up a report and photo thread, but I'm still too wiped out to think about that--or to face the task of culling my 127 photos down to a reasonable number to post. I don't even know how I'm even staying up right now.

This was the Paramount, CA protest at which 9 protesters--including a retired pastor--were arrested. DUer Fire Walk With Me posted a thread focusing on a photo of the pastor's arrest:

For anyone who may be interested, my 127-photo album from the protest is here (best viewed as a slideshow):

I'm not a good photographer, and mainly tried to focus on the diversity of the individuals and groups participating in the protest. In addition, I photographed the arrests as the L.A. County Sheriff's Department executed them.

When I say I'm not a good photographer, I'm not kidding. After it was over and protesters gradually were dispersing, I was sitting on the grass by the main entrance to W-M's parking lot when, suddenly, a Sheriff's Dept. truck with riot gear-clad deputies hanging off the sides passed RIGHT in front of me. It would have made for a great photo, but I fumbled for the camera I'd already put away in my backpack and by the time I got to it, the best I could do was a long shot of the back of the vehicle before it disappeared from view...

C'est la vie...
