2/9 at 9am in Fresno. Help save sacred Jesse Morrow Mountain from Cemex destruction. We need help

Please folks,

Thursday, 9:00 a.m., February 9th is our last chance to stop Cemex mining of Jesse Morrow Mountain.

We need to pack the Fresno County Planning Commission meeting at the Hall of Records (Courthouse Park, Tulare & “M” Streets, Fresno, CA.), Room 301. Come early if you want a seat!

Please help us stop the senseless desecration of our mountain.

We don't need this mine; we have plenty of aggregate available from several mines in this area. And another mine, that is not on a scenic route, will soon be operating near Reedley in Sanger.

Forward this email to all of your email contacts and print it and give it to everyone.
Please, don't let this happen. The valley must protect its natural resources, there has already been so much destroyed and remember our air quality!

Cemex is notorious for violating rules and then they just pay the fine, what will that area be like if they don't properly contain the diesel fuel and chemicals they will have on top of our mountain? The river and over fifty wells would be contaminated.

STOP THE MINE, PLEASE!

Write letters to all the Editors of all the papers, Reedley, Sanger, and Fresno. Thanks.

See you there.
Toni and Walt

Friends of Jesse Morrow Mountains purpose is to prevent mining on Jesse Morrow and protect Jesse Morrow Mountains cultural, historical, biological, water and visual significance as a gateway to the National Parks and Monuments. On a clear day, many view it from afar such as the freeway section of Highway 180 heading East without realizing how strip mining might change the view...In just one year the Fresno County Board of Supervisors has approved expansion of one mine and approval of another.

Cemex will proceed full speed ahead with its plan to mine Jesse Morrow Mountain despite a Sanger businessman's contention that his expanded rail distribution center can provide all the aggregate the area needs.

Roger Van Groningen said that his company, specializing in transportation and storage services, could begin bringing aggregate by rail to the area in 90 days at an expanded distribution center near Selma. He said his development has potential to put off the need for mining at Jesse Morrow Mountain.
