April 15 is coming - need tax help?
Got this from my wonderful Congressman Xavier Becerra:
Tax Day is on Monday, April 15, 2013.
Do you or someone you know make $51,000 or less and need tax help?
With Tax Day only one month away, many working families should check if they are eligible for credits that help reduce their taxes and for free tax filing assistance. If you earned $51,000 or less last year, the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program may be able to help. VITA locations throughout Los Angeles have trained volunteers who are IRS-certified. They can help you prepare basic returns, make sure you receive the maximum refund for which you qualify, and file your return free of charge.
Click here to find the VITA site nearest you or visit the Greater Los Angeles EITC website and type in your address

At a VITA location, you can also learn about the tax credits you may be eligible for such as the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), Child Tax Credit, and Credit for the Elderly or the Disabled. For example, the EITC is worth up to $5,891 if you earned less than $50,270. Please contact the specific program site for more details and to schedule an appointment.
This tax season, make sure you dont miss out on tax preparation help and tax credits that are available for you and your family!
