Yuck...

Say goodbye to KTLK.

The last remnants of what was once liberal talk network Air America are being laid to rest as Clear Channel announces the dropping of almost all current programming on KTLK (1150 AM) and the launch of conservative talker The Patriot on Jan. 2.

The changes at KTLK will also affect sister station KFI (640 AM), as Clear Channel will move Rush Limbaugh to KTLK from his longtime home of KFI. This will allow for an almost all-local host format on KFI during its broadcast day and an all-syndicated format on KTLK.

... which was where the "progressive" talk had been relegated. And KTLK had become steadily more half-assed over the years, anyway.

Especially after they dropped Thom Hartmann!

Hopefully "the Patriot" will implode was well, and KFI can stay "mainstream," at worse, and at least keep the righgtwingers off its own signal....

KTLA fit into my afternoon drive a couple of days a week and the thought of hearing hate radio instead is nauseating. It's back to rock-n-roll for me.
