Just cut 'em out of that map, and stick 'em up there.

They can try to play their regulatory and their SWAT team games on Weedsters, and Weedsters, in turn, can mellow them out (or try to). It might be the remedy. Or, or, OR...

Since I strongly suspect that Monsanto, et al, are poised to take over and monopolize and GMO-ize the weed, maybe Weedland and Sacramento would get along better than might be predicted. Some Weedsters will go corporate. Most will probably go to Merlot. All problems solved.

just of "Merlot"! (Actually, between the Lodi region and the Sierra foothills around Fair Play, it could ust as easily have been called "Zinfandel". )

4. You are correct...

There is a town named Weed and I have overnighted there when I was long-haul trucker on one of my I-5 runs when I worked with a company pulling Interstate Distributors out of Washington. The locals were friendly and didn't seem hung up on their name, or at least were immune to all of the jokes about it.
