Progressives in Fresno need your help (signatures) in stopping Slumlords in Fresno,CA

I posted this in Video section but wanted to post in CA also because I home other CA sign the petition and share the video with friends and family to help spread the word.

https://vimeo.com/120448684

Fresno is in the Agricultural Central California. About 30 years ago Fresno was taken over by the Neo-Con--cons..
30 years of Neo-con Pro developer Mayors...
People often wonder how did Wisconsin Scott Walker get re-elected.. same way Fresno, CA has had a corrupt Mayor and other officials.. money, Neo-con playbook, and more money. Koch brothers invest 100,000 in a campaign, and they get Millions back in returns.

What I can't understand is why does Liberal part of CA not put a stop to it? There is a liberal Gov Jerry Brown and liberal Attorney General who turn a blind eye.

Please see the short video, (It will disgust you ), sign the petition, even if you aren't from Fresno,CA.. it will let those in power know that the rest of the country knows was B.S. is going on in Fresno. And share with others.

The small and Very hard working progressives in Fresno,CA need your help in getting things to change in Fresno. They have been increasing in numbers but they are fighting against a raging river of greed, bigotry, fear, and apathy.

If you belong to a service or faith group that deals with homelessness, foreclosures, or slumlords.. share this video with them and see if they can write a letter from your group condemning what is happening in Fresno and send it to the Mayor and City council members and cc' Faith in Action in Fresno.

* biggest Slumlord is J.D. Home Rentals who is John, David, and Bryce Hovannisian who manage or/and owns over 3000 properties.

You can sign the petition here: http://nomoreslumlords.org/

of course they didn't.

http://www.kmph-kfre.com/story/14538430/kmph-special-report-fresnos-worst-landlord

"City housing officials say JD Home Rentals just recently agreed to make changes and upgrade a handful of buildings including at an apartment complex in the Lowell neighborhood.

"Much of what we are trying to do with our department and the city is to work more closely with property owners – we want to develop a relationship so in the future for example we can make a phone call, they can meet us at the property and we can discuss what needs to be repaired versus sending notices," Siipola said.

As for Mrs. Velasquez and the massive hole in the bathroom ceiling? Code Enforcement forced the landlord to fix it.

The repairs were made after KMPH News asked the city of Fresno what it was doing to do about it. But there are still many more repairs to go.

"I called maintenance... they said we'll get to it," Mike said.

Code Enforcement says the only way it can force a landlord to fix things is to have tenants call and report a violation. Here's the number to Fresno City Code Enforcement: (559) 621–8400.
