Democrat wins Connecticut state House special election

Democrats were projected to win a Connecticut state House special election on Tuesday, according to Decision Desk HQ.

Democratic candidate Larry Pemberton defeated Republican Brandon Sabbag for Connecticut state House District 139.

Pemberton, who serves as treasurer for the Eastern Pequot Tribal Nation, according to The Bulletin, defeated Sabbag, who’s served on the Ledyard Republican Party, for a state House seat that includes parts of Montville, Ledyard and Norwich.

CT Mirror noted Pemberton is an unaffiliated voter but won the Democratic nomination for the special election.
