Hundreds Gather To Mourn Milford Teen; Classmate Accused In School Stabbing Due In Court Friday Morn

MILFORD — Hundreds gathered Thursday at the Cody-White Funeral Home to pay their respects to Maren Sanchez, the Jonathan Law High School junior who was fatally stabbed in a school stairwell last week.

As a long line of people, many wearing purple — Sanchez's favorite color — wrapped around the corner of North Broad Street and down High Street early Thursday afternoon, the gray sky lifted and the sun began to shine. Volunteers brought about a dozen therapy dogs to comfort mourners waiting outside the funeral home.

The teen accused of killing Sanchez on April 25 is scheduled to appear Friday morning at Superior Court in Milford.

Doctors are expected to release Christopher Plaskon, 16, of Milford, from the undisclosed medical facility where he has been receiving psychiatric treatment while in police custody, so that he may attend the hearing.
