FLASH FLOOD WARNING for DC

and environs, until 4 p.m.


The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of DC...Maryland and Virginia, including the following
areas: in DC, District of Columbia. In Maryland, Anne Arundel,
Calvert, Central and Southeast Howard, Central and Southeast
Montgomery, Charles, Prince Georges, Southeast Harford, Southern
Baltimore and St. Marys. In Virginia, Arlington/Falls
Church/Alexandria, Fairfax, King George, Prince
William/Manassas/Manassas Park, Spotsylvania and Stafford.

* Until 8 PM EDT this evening

* Showers and thunderstorms will produce heavy rain across the area,
especially near and along the Interstate 95 corridor. Rainfall
amounts will average one to three inches, with locally higher
amounts possible.

* Heavy rainfall may result in rapid rises of water in small creeks
and streams, as well as the potential for flash flooding in urban
and poor drainage areas.

I'm safe here in downtown DC but saw pics of some other neighborhoods that have bad flooding damaging parked cars on the street.

The rain looks like it stopped for now.
