USF economist says RNC was more bust than boom for Hillsborough

"If there was an impact, it was negative," Porter said last week in an email response to an inquiry from the Tampa Bay Times.

Anyone who lives in the Tampa Bay area is used to multi-million dollar conventions and tax breaks that put tax dollars in the pockets of the wealthy while public transportation, environmental concerns, and schools go to hell. Even my repub neighbors are getting pissed. Maybe they'll vote for someone else next time!
