Florida man threatens pregnant woman over parking spot
A Florida man was arrested on Monday after police said he threatened a pregnant woman with a gun after he accused her of parking in two spaces.
The woman, who is nine months pregnant, parked in a lot near a restaurant in Ocala on Monday in order to meet someone about selling her dog when Donte Lerma, 20, pulled up and complained about her being in two spaces, the Ocala Star-Banner reports. The woman told police that she verbally responded to his claim and he got out of his vehicle with a black handgun in his right hand.
Police said the woman retreated to her vehicle and called 911 with the woman she was there to meet giving officers a similar story.
Lerma told police that the handgun was a BB gun that he was going to show his cousin and he “did not remember” having the firearm when he encountered the woman. He was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
