Florida man lands record 18-foot-long python in the Everglades

...
A trapper caught an 18-foot python in the Everglades over the weekend. It broke the state record for the creepy, crawly, reptilian flesh-eating machines.
...
The lucky contractor was Central Florida resident John Hammond, WOFL reported. He is not afraid of snakes. Ran down, grabbed it by the head, he told WOFL. When I did that, it constricted me from the waist down, which was the plan.
...
The snake that wrapped itself around him was a foot longer than one caught last year in the Big Cypress National Preserve. That one was described as a snake that could pretty much kill any full-grown man.
Hammonds a full-grown man, but he knew what he was doing. Since the snake wrapped itself around his legs, it couldnt squeeze the life out of him. After about 45 minutes, the reptile gave out and Hammond dragged it back to his truck, WOFL reported.

Thats what Everglades trappers make, WOFL reported. If that doesnt convince you Florida needs to raise its minimum wage, nothing will.
