Donald Trump told U.S.-born congressional Reps. to 'go back.' Florida's response

We asked the four Florida congressional representatives who are immigrants or the children of immigrants for their thoughts on the president’s comments.
Tampa Bay Times, by Kirby Wilson, 7/14/2019

We asked the four Florida congressional representatives who are immigrants or the children of immigrants for their thoughts on the president’s comments. Here’s what the elected officials, two Republicans and two Democrats, had to say:

Stephanie Murphy, D-07, Emigrated from Vietnam
“America is a nation that is not defined by a single race, color, or creed. As an immigrant, I love this country as much as any other U.S. born citizen, and that’s why I chose to serve.”

Mario Diaz-Balart, R-25, Child of Cuban immigrants
No response.

Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, D-26, Emigrated from Ecuador
As an immigrant, I have dedicated my career on working to improve the community that we live in and I wish the President would do the same. Whether by birth or not, immigrants are just as American as anyone else.

Sen. Marco Rubio, Child of Cuban immigrants
No response.
