Explain Georgia ballot and why Loeffler's name is not on it...my Georgia sis is confused. Thanks.

My Georgia sister had no idea what her ballot means...Jungle primary. Help Georgia DUer's or anyone
who understands what is going on. Loeffler's name is not there. I found an article about her name being removed by the legislation...what a shit show. There has been no information from the Democratic Party. Georgia does not do party affiliation. I remember it was very tough to organize anything there. The directions with the ballot say vote for one candidate. But sis is totally confused and I have never seen such a ballot help from Georgia Duer's please. Could they end up with only Republicans running in a runoff? Also, how many will be in the runoff- top two candidates? Also, how do we field a candidate to run against Loeffler as her name is not there...only Sonny's seat on this ballot? Thanks in advance! Cross posted in General Discussion.

Are any of these democrats strong enough to beat Loeffler? Demsrule86 May 2020 #2
Possibly. They are both AA and will split that vote brer cat May 2020 #3

June 9 will be a regular primary to challenge Sonny Perdue. As far as I know, he has no republican challengers. Democrats running include Sarah Riggs Amigo, Maya Dillard-Smith, Jon Ossoff, and Teresa Tomlinson. If necessary there will be a runoff in Aug.

The battle for Johnny Iskson's seat(which was filled through the end of this term by Loeffler) will be Nov. 3. This is the jungle primary which will contain both republicans and Democrats on the same ballot and the top two finishers will face a run-off in Jan. Loeffler and Doug Collins are republicans and Dems include Rev. Raphael Warnock and Ed Tarver.

Your sister may be confusing the two elections because Loeffler is still running.

as the two republicans will split the conservative votes. Neither Democrat is likely to do well in rural GA so the key may be suburban women. Doug Jones pulled his win with AAs and suburban women so it can be done.

of Agriculture. David Perdue, his equally loathsome cousin, is the rePuke senator running for re-election.
