Election judges!!

I am the precinct committee person in my neighborhood. As such, I am always looking for Democratic voters and volunteers. Since I live in a red area, we are always short on Democratic election judges. I have recruited quite a few.

Our election judges deserve a lot of respect and credit. They put in long days and work hard. They get paid, but it is a pittance.

Several years ago, I recruited one of my neighbors to be an election judge. She is the mother of twins. Her twins are eighteen now, and they have started to work as election judges, too. Their mother recruited them! I am so happy!!

But it is a very important job and to say it is a long day is an understatement. COVID made the primary and general an even longer day and thankfully NO idiots (of the Covidiot or tridiots) at my precinct. There is more work to be done after the polls close (looking for write-ins and verifying write-ins is such a joy lol). THEN the ballots et al have to be delivered to the county seat - driving in the dark, long round trip for some.

Don't forget those who deliver supplies to the precincts THEN pick-up the day after the election. I'm glad IL does its best to ensure ALL those eligible to vote are given equal opportunity to vote.
