TH called for tolerance when dealing with transgender people.

The TH responded to Caitlyn Jenner's public debut this morning.

No doubt, the former Bruce Jenner received an outpouring of love and admiration from many of those who were inspired by her. But, as many local citizens might have seen on their own social media feeds, the response was not all good.

Words like "disgusting" and "abomination" and "an affront to God" were thrown around as some people boldly proclaimed their opinion of Jenner's transgender reveal. While these individuals know nothing of Jenner personally, and likely know little about gender-identity issues, that didn't stop them from brazenly broadcasting their opinion.

They went on to talk about how despite our wonderful Republican Governor calling for anti-bullying legislation it didn't happen and how it sent a message that Iowa doesn't care about bullying.

Bullying is a hot topic in our culture right now. Most adults would profess to abhor bullying and seek ways to stop bullying among children at school and online. Yet some of these same adults think nothing of condemning a lifestyle they have never experienced and do not understand. That's the very definition of intolerance.

In Iowa, despite our Republican governor calling anti-bullying legislation one of his top priorities, House Republicans wouldn't take up the issue. For the third consecutive year, House Republicans have not made the time to send a message against bullying. The message that sends is that we're not as concerned about bullying as we claim to be, and plenty of adults endorsed that message with their own Facebook posts last week.

And if you scroll down a bit looks like a couple of the guys missed the point entirely, as usual.
