My letter was published this morning;
Kansas has severe financial problems right now because of Brownback and his compliant legislature. Wisconsin is not much better off.
Mr. Cannon then should look at states like Minnesota or California. Those states are in a much better position today than they were a few years ago, mainly because of Democratic control of at least part of state government. For example, California went from a $26 billion deficit to a $2 billion surplus.
Why Mr. Cannon doesn't want more people voting? It's the right of all eligible Americans to do so, and it is a right people have fought and died for. I wish more people would vote. (I don't agree with mandatory voting).
Maybe if everyone voted we wouldn't have the problems we have now, and we'd have a government that actually worked for us instead of corporations and the wealthy. Low turnout gave us the Congress we have now, which is more concerned with winning politically against the President than doing what's right for the American people.
That sound is all the teabaggers whining about how I'm being mean to them.
