FBI: Omaha man arrested for threats against Joni Ernst
An Omaha man was arrested Friday on suspicion of threatening U.S. Sen. Joni Ernst of Iowa, authorities said.
Robert William Simet, 64, was arrested and criminally charged, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Southern District of Iowa.
The FBI is investigating this case.
Simet was booked into the Pottawattamie County Jail in Council Bluffs. He was scheduled to appear before a magistrate judge at 3 p.m. in Council Bluffs, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
