NOLA areas for LGBT

I am looking, seriously, at bring my yankee self there. (I was mesmerized by a 2004 trip.) I need comprehensive public transportation walkable neighborhoods, park space to walk my dog too. I want a grocery store within a mile/LGBT availability, and since this is LA, food and coffee. I already brew Cafe Du Monde in a French Press every morning so I am sociable/polite/ and a good neighbor.

I've been there a few times and there's something magical about that town

apartments with "grocery within X minutes" and "coffee within Y"

there's also metro heatmaps to avoid the all-red car-dependent "abandoned zones"

on e beautiful October morning sipping coffee and eating beignets. I've never forgotten and have always wanted to return. Seems like a pretty cool city.
