must find placement for seven cats - please offer links

Long story short, we're moving to California. We have nine cats* and can only take two. We're taking the two with special needs.

If you know of any foster organizations, rescues for cats, no-kill shelters, or any other such organizations that I might contact, please post the links here.

Of course, if you are willing to offer a home to one or more healthy senior cats (ages eight to 14), I'm happy to discuss it with you.

Thanks very much.

* They have plenty of room, are well-fed, well-cared-for, enriched, healthy, and happy.

Not in the area so no concrete suggestions. Tough situation finding homes or even a rescue for 7 older kitties. Kicking- maybe someone has some thoughts/help to offer.

The Oregon Humane Society does a wonderful job with cat adoptions. The facility is large, beautiful, and very very few animals are put down. They keep bonded cats together, as much as possible. I can't say enough about them. Some shelters in other states actually send cats HERE to be put up for adoption.

I am looking for a cat companion for my newish kitty. She lived with four others, and they were given up when the owner lost job and could no longer keep them. My kitty is lonesome, I think. She's eight years old, very sweet and a bit lonely.

P.S. How about posting some photos of these kitties? That might allow someone to fall in love.

It puts you in contact with local people and you may be able to find them a home, and even keep in contact to ask how they're doing.

Shelters are a rough place, especially for older cats.
