Massachusetts to temporarily ban the sale of e-cigarettes and vaping products

(CNN) Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker has called for a temporary statewide ban on the sale of all e-cigarettes and vaping products in response to a nationwide outbreak of lung injuries associated with vaping.
Vaping an epidemic in US high schools

"I'm officially declaring a public health emergency in the Commonwealth due to severe lung disease associated with the use of e-cigarettes and marijuana-infused vaping products," Baker said during a press conference on Tuesday.
"I'm requesting that the public health council order a four-month temporary ban on the sale of all vaping products in retail establishments, online and through any other means, effective immediately," he said. "We as a Commonwealth need to pause sales in order for our medical experts to collect more information about what is driving these life-threatening vaping-related illnesses."

Massachusetts would be the first state to issue such a ban, which would last through January 25, 2020. It would apply to all vaping products and devices, including tobacco and marijuana, according to the governor's office.

I'm sure are ecstatic.

There's absolutely zero evidence this outbreak of sickness has ANYTHING TO DO WITH E-CIGARETTES i.e. vaping of nicotine purchased from reputable retail vendors.

NONE WHATSOEVER.

This move is just going to put 1000's of mom and pop shops and small businesses OUT OF BUSINESS with this move. For NO GOOD REASON.

Imagine if kids were rolling up some unknown substance into rolling papers and smoking it up ... and ending up deathly sick ... and the Governor said 'we must ban all smoking materials in the state, including Marlboros, cigars and pipe tobacco' ... because the method of administration (smoking) is the same as the one making people sick!'

IOW, this is friggin' STUPID.

And vaping of nicotine-containing products is linked to ZERO DEATHS EACH YEAR ... but states want to ban it.

FUCKING RIDICULOUS.
