Related: About this forumJim Graves pulls out of the 6th District race
http://www.democraticunderground.com/1014497281I'm happy for him and his family, but quite disappointed for Minnesota.
Do you think it's true that he'd have a harder time beating a non-crazy Republican opponent?
The next few months will be interesting to say the least.

(1,069 posts)1. Did he not want to be a Congressman or what?
I feel for all his donors. I sent some dough in the '12 campaign but was waiting on this one.
The 6 CD is Teabag Central, a strong Dem is needed here. They are just going to replace one nutjar with another (Emmer, Kiffmeyer, anyone?)

"The 6th District is the attic where Minnesota hides its crazy aunts."

(35,619 posts)4. I guess Jim Graves didn't have a great desire to be a Congressman.
He's doing well as a businessman, and wanted Bachmann out.
He would have had an uphill battle against someone without Bachmann's baggage, but if he had a great desire to be a Congressman, then he would have fought that battle.

(7,720 posts)2. I think Bachmann
would have been far easier for Graves to beat in '14 than a well-funded republican candidate without the baggae of Bachmann.

Can you imagine? Makes Bachmann look a bit more normal.
