"GOP delegates select businessman Aaron Miller to oppose Rep. Tim Walz"

ALBERT LEA, Minn. — Republican delegates on Saturday selected businessman Aaron Miller to challenge Democratic U.S. Rep. Tim Walz this fall, and the two defeated candidates agreed not to run in the official primary in August.

Miller, a hospital account manager with Revo Biologic, told delegates that his experience in health care means he can help congressional Republicans offer alternatives to the federal health care act rather than simply try to repeal it. He also said his work in the private sector would give him an advantage against Walz in the general election.

with the health care focus. They are not focusing on the Mankato area much less the rural farms across the 1st CD.

He needs to be more diverse and reach beyond Mayo to really have a change.

Aaron Miller, the Minnesota Republican Party’s nominee for the 1st Congressional District, said this week that he wanted to win because learning about evolution made his daughter cry, and he wanted to make sure that schools were not forced to teach it.

The Mankato Free Press reported last month that Miller told a story to a Republican county convention about how his daughter became “very upset because she had to learn about evolution at school.”
