"Tevlin: Punch Pizza has the last laugh over its higher wages
Star Tribune, Sunday, September 6, 2015
It was nearly two years ago that Punch Pizza raised its lowest minimum wage to $10, at the same time increasing pay significantly throughout the company, from pizza chefs up to general managers. This was before any minimum wage plans had passed at either the local or national level.
I wrote a column about the plan and got a lot of response, a surprising amount of it critical of Punchs owners, John Puckett and John Soranno.
I hope you write about it when this company goes out of business in two years was a common comment."

(23,156 posts)that you get what you pay for also applies to how you pay your employees.
I am so glad, and not terribly surprised, that this company is doing quite well.

(28,075 posts)but after Punch raised its wages, a few of us DUers have made a point to meet a one of the restaurants two or three times. Hopefully, there were other people who decided to try them for the same reason.
I was disappointed that the new pizza place going in in my neighborhood isn't a Punch. There isn't one any where near me which may be a good thing for sake of my weight. I do enjoy their pizza.
