JEFFERSON CITY — The Salvation Army had to close their Center of Hope warming shelter temporarily in Jefferson City due to a rise in COVID cases among staff. With very limited options for warming shelters in Jefferson City, this left a huge need within the community, especially upon the arrival of snow and winter weather.
Salvation Army’s mid-Missouri Regional Coordinator Major Curtiss Hartley said they were able to find a location to use as a substitute warming shelter at Building Community Bridges. The address is 213 E Ashley Street.
“They are loaning us the space overnight and providing coffee for us and the hospitality,” Hartley said.
