Reaction to Attorney General Eric Schmitt's lawsuits against several school districts
Columbia Public Schools responded to a lawsuit from Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt's office over a mask mandate.
Michelle Baumstark, the Chief Communications Officer for Columbia Public Schools, released a statement. The statement said Columbia schools are listening to guidance from the State of Missouri, the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, as well as local and federal health experts. "Filing suits against numerous public school districts for making decisions in the interest of safety and keeping scholars in school continues to waste taxpayer dollars and resources, which are better spent investing in our scholars," the statement reads. "Columbia Public Schools intends to aggressively defend its decision to do everything possible to keep its scholars and staff safe and its schools open." https://krcgtv.com/news/local/reaction-to-attorney-general-eric-schmitts-lawsuits-against-several-school-districts

2. He's suing
just about all the districts in my area. All because they have temporary mask mandates. Some lasting until early February some a bit longer. Schmitt has a child with several medical issues and I just don’t get it. He is an idiot.

3. The AG should be charged if...
anyone in those schools get sick, or possible even dies from Covid.
Criminally negligent homicide would be my first choice. Another charge could be endangering the welfare of a child. In any event, there should at least be civil suits for damages. This is a deliberate act that puts people at risk. |

4. Republicans can never waste enough taxpayer dollars in service of partisan, political stunts
They have lost all interest in the actual, collective public good.
