Harry Reid ‘very dubious’ about recreational marijuana

U.S. Sen. Harry Reid says he’s all for medical marijuana, but he isn’t so sure about recreational use.

Reid said today he is “very, very dubious and concerned” about recreational marijuana and that if he had to vote today on the November ballot measure to legalize it in Nevada, known as Question 2, he’d vote no.

Reid said recreational marijuana needs to be studied “quite a bit longer” and that he wanted to wait and see how the debate progresses.

“People better start making their case to me,” Reid said. “They haven’t done that.”

Mormon traditions suggest we should stick to a nice glass of milk or a room full of young girls for fun. Those probably are better for health but who is he to make my decision on recreation?

People who have been anti-drug, in this case Marijuana, and see the inevitability of its legalization fall back on the 'lets study a lot more' as an attempt to delay that legalization for a long time. It is also a copout in the sense that he is trying to have it both ways. 'Oh I am against it because nobody has proved anything, so lets study it and then I might be for it'.

Calling ones self suspect and unreliable does not bode well for anyone let alone a politician -- certainly not a Democrat.

As he offers no prior knowledge of any of the many reports out there saying pot should be legalized, all I can assume is that he is NOT looking for facts.

Dubious indeed.
