Trump staffer leading N.J. Christmas parade? Humbug, some say
HAMMONTON -- While Kellyanne Conway may value her South Jersey roots, some residents of her hometown are rejecting her scheduled appearance at this weekend's Christmas parade.
Conway, who was campaign advisor for President-elect Donald Trump and is now part of his transition team, graduated from St. Joseph High School, in Hammonton. Her swing through South Jersey -- plus scheduled speech and being given a key to the town -- was revealed Monday in media reports.
"I don't play politics with the Christmas parade," said Hammonton Councilman Mickey Pullia, also a lieutenant with the town's fire department that has organized the annual parade for years. "This is not a political event in any way, shape or form."
Be that as it may, people both in and outside of Hammonton have a problem with Conway serving as grand marshal.
