Letitia James pushes to require colleges to release rape stats

Public Advocate Letitia James is pushing to force colleges in the city to publicly release sex crime stats every month.

Schools would have to release the data on the number of sexual assaults under legislation James plans to introduced in the City Council in response to growing criticism of how universities handle sexual assault cases.

Dubbed the New York City Campus Safety Act, it would apply to both public and private colleges in the city
