School bus strike threatens to strand more than 6,000 students

YONKERS -- Parents in our area will need to find another way to get their children to school on Monday if the bus drivers from Transport Workers Union Local 100 go on strike.

The strike would affect Yonkers, Mount Vernon and New Rochelle.

Miles Square Transportation bus drivers transport all bused students to Mount Vernon schools and roughly half the students in New Rochelle and Yonkers.

500 Mount Vernon students will be affected, including special education and school choice students while 6000 students could be affected in Yonkers.
