NEW YORK An appeals court says its constitutional for New York City to charge a much higher application fee for a handgun permit than elsewhere in the state.
The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan ruled on Tuesday.
It rejected a lawsuit brought by guns rights advocates including the New York State Rifle & Pistol Association and the Second Amendment Foundation.
They sued in 2011, saying a $340 handgun license fee every three years is unconstitutional.
