DOH: West Nile Virus Detected In City, No Human Cases Reported

The West Nile virus has been detected in mosquitoes in parts of the city for the first time this season.

The city Health Department says infected mosquitoes were discovered in Flushing, Queens and the Huguenot Beach section of Staten Island.

No human cases have been reported.

The health department is taking steps to target mosquito breeding grounds.
