Albany-area buildings chosen for re-use project

Associated Press
ALBANY, N.Y. — A historic preservation organization is launching an effort aimed at finding new uses for the many vacant industrial buildings dotting upstate New York communities.

The Preservation League of New York says it's working with the Troy Architectural Program to create development and rehabilitation plans for several industrial buildings as part of the Industrial Heritage Reuse Project.

The groups are holding a news conference Wednesday at one of them, the Rodger's Liquor Building in Albany. The other buildings included in the Preservation League's demonstration project are in Amsterdam, Troy and Schenectady.
