brings with it pluses and minuses. The pluses include lowering of crime, increase in quality of life, greater choices in places to eat, shop, etc. The big minus is how rents will go up as property becomes in demand.

I would love to find a way to keep rents down (and lower current rents), while lowering crime, increasing quality of life, give greater choices of places to eat, etc.


rental property is very tight in NYC, mainly because developers have to be forced to build affordable housing. In order to get their projects approved for luxury co-ops, condos, developers agree to set aside a certain amount for affordable units. But there is no developer out there rushing to build only affordable rental housing.
