Zephyr Teachout won't win, but could hurt Gov. Cuomo with strong primary showing: insiders

KEN LOVETT

No one thinks Fordham Law School Professor Zephyr Teachout will beat Gov. Cuomo in the Sept. 9 Democratic primary — but she could hurt him, experts said.

The little-known and underfunded Teachout has already earned the endorsement of the state government's second largest public employees union, and also has the backing of a number of progressive Democratic groups.

If she gets 20% or more of the vote, it would show that a sizable amount of Cuomo's own Democratic party has little enthusiasm for the governor, despite his success on gay marriage and tougher gun laws, Democratic operatives say

The fact that he's governing as conservatively as he is in such a blue state is pathetic and a horrible sign for the future direction of the Democratic party.

That the Governer and LG of a deep blue state, don't even feel like they have to even pretend to be liberal or progressive or for "the people".

How far have we come where they know they can govern like corporatists without the slightest bit of ramifcations?

Cuomo allowed "Democratic" senators to caucus with the republicans to give them the controlof the senate so Cuomo could look bipartisan.

Albany likd DC is broken.
