Anti-abortion group launches ad campaign in key Senate districts

A conservative group has launched an advertising campaign against three sitting Senate Democrats, knocking them for their support of a proposal to bolster New York’s abortion law.

The radio ads from the pro-life Chiaroscuro PAC began airing today in three battleground Senate districts currently held by Sens. Terry Gipson, D-Rhinebeck, Dutchess County; Cecilia Tkaczyk, D-Duanesburg, Schenectady County; and Ted O’Brien, D-Irondequoit, Monroe County.

The minute-long ad starts with a female voice speaking the part of an unborn child—“I laugh, I kick, I smile. I am. You can see me there on the sonogram.”—before transitioning to criticism of the Senate Democrats for their support of the so-called abortion plank of the 10-point Women’s Equality Act.
