... What were you thinking? The man could not put two sentences together in a debate.
You couldn't pick someone with more name recognition in the didtrict?
By all rights Grimm should have been defeated and my guess is he won't be filling out his term but now the gop can get their bench ready for a special election.
This sucks!

(43,049 posts)give Recchia a race to lose in a losing year. Get him out of your hair for a while.
Run a good guy in the special, after Republicans have pissed everyone off.

I didn't see the debate but his performance must have truly been awful.

(25,406 posts)I hadn't really been following this race but I was curious how someone facing a 20-count indictment could win. After reading about Recchia it quickly became obvious.

Who was it?
Saw just a couple of clips you posted of the debates. I didn't think Recchia was all that bad. No Daniel Webster... that's for sure.
My impression was he was fairly progressive in the city council. No?
If he was in fact foisted on the public my the NYS party.... my guess is that they figured R.'s ethnicity would play big on Staten Island. Even though he's from Brooklyn.
Factoring in, of course, all of Grimm's other problems.
