I used to love snow days when I lived in NYC. A soft blanket of snow really takes the edge off the hard lines of the city. The muffled, rare silence and stillness fed my soul. Gentle music, a steaming bowl of soup, a good book and then a long winter's nap. Peace!

(14,498 posts)Up here... North Bronx, where people are car dependent..... it's hell on earth.
Not just today... but the rest of the week. One's life centers around strategizing about to where to put and keep one's vehicle.
The plan changes every time you move the damn thing.

(4,168 posts)You must live in an apartment complex. When you're a home owner you're legally required to shovel snow and we've been trying to stay ahead of it all day. With 30" on the ground and the snow still falling, it's been challenging, especially since my wife and I are a bit long in the tooth and not in the best of health.
The car is currently snow-bound in a garage and we haven't even begun to dig it out. I'll probably miss at least 2 or 3 days of work.

on edit: Spotted in Denver the year we got slammed with six storms in the same number of weeks. 2005, maybe 2006?
