Gov. Cuomo to sign bill outlawing e-cigarettes in most restaurants, bars and workplaces

ALBANY — Gov. Cuomo on Monday plans to sign into law new restrictions on electronic cigarettes that effectively ban their use in most restaurants, bars and workplaces, the Daily News has learned.

The measure, adopted by the Legislature in June, extends the provisions of New York’s Clean Indoor Air Act to include e-cigarettes and has been a top priority of anti-smoking advocates.

“These products are marketed as a healthier alternative to cigarettes, but the reality is they also carry long-term risks to the health of users and those around them,” Cuomo said.

“This measure closes another dangerous loophole in the law, creating a stronger, healthier New York for all.”

..he is the only Democrat that I could see having a shot at the Presidential nomination that I would really have to hold my nose to vote for. Even on issues that he's "good" on, it just all appears so craven. Like for every positive move he makes on gay rights or another social issue he'll do something reprehensible economically as though using the former as some kind of shield from criticism.

Booker has a similar dynamic but he seems far less obvious and calculating about it. Like I genuinely believe that Booker things his pro-Wall Street leanings are the right way to go, and I believe that his social liberalism is sincere. Maybe that's naive of me, or maybe that just makes him a better politician. Either way it's much less offensive to me as what Cuomo tries to pull off.

that match yours on BOTH. Thank you for being so frank and honest. We need some powerhouse Dems, like Obama, that will appeal to all Dems, Independents and moderate repubs.
