Movie set explosion planned on Staten Island Tuesday

Eyewitness News

NEW YORK (WABC) -- There is an important notice for residents in parts of Staten Island.

If you see a massive fireball go off in your neighborhood, the NYPD wants you to know it's likely just a movie stunt.

A film crew will simulate an explosion on at the Great Kills Swim Club, in the vicinity of Nahant Street between Corbin and Greaves avenues, between noon and 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Firefighters and police will be on site to monitor the stunt.

There was a rock band whose explosive video shoot was interrupted three times by cops who didn't know what was going on, though they had proper permission and permits.
